Be a Part of Music in Plymouth!

MIP Music in Plymouth began in 1972 on a vacant lot in the Minneapolis Industrial Park. Al Hilde, Jr., Plymouth's mayor, formed a citizen commitee, the Plymouth Civic League (PCL) to sponsor the concert of the Minnesota Orchestra in Plymouth in an effort to promote community identity and spirit. Today, Music in Plymouth (MIP) has become an annual summer extravaganza eagerly anticipated by residents of Plymouth and surrounding communities; more than 15,000 people bring their picnic suppers, enjoy the pre-concert activities and then sit back and revel in the starlight concert in the Hilde Performance Center with its accompanying fireworks. The entire evening's events are simulcast on a large screen that has been added to enhance visual accessibility for the crowd.

The continued growth and success of Music in Plymouth depends on the commitment of individuals and businesses that make their home in the community. You can join the many other civic-minded Plymouth businesses to become a valuable part of this long-standing tradition. Your contribution to the annual operating fund will ensure that thousands of people are able to gather in the heart of Plymouth for a spectacular evening of music, fireworks and community spirit.

The Plymouth Civic League accepts tax-deductible cash and material contributions in eight categories. 100% of all contributions go toward the cost of Music in Plymouth.
